An amazing and original book, that offers a new presepctive on the 18th century, phenomenal scholarship, and is a literary triumph with fluid prose.
This book reads like a mystery novel, but is a beautifully written, insight piece of history. Weaves together the lives of four strangers, connected by the Atlantic trade and the economic demands of the 18th century. Can't recommend enough.
