I forgot to mention in my review of volume one how much I love the fact that there are so many glasses wearers in this series. Not fashion glasses, or fake/decoy glasses, but actual prescription glasses. And those Megane characters are mostly main characters, not support characters, that have regular (well otaku regular anyway) personalities rather than just the stereotypical bookworm/nerd. Hirotaka may be a gamer but, if he wasn't so hardcore about it, and actually cared to talk to people, the ladies would be all over him. And the guys lust after Hanako, cold attitude and all. I don't know enough about Ko yet to comment on her character or if she really needs her glasses. Well she is a secondary character so that's okay.Looking forward to more otaku and megane fun in the next volume! Keep'em comin'!
This is a really fun series, it makes me laugh and keeps me entertained. The four main characters are charming and it is fun to follow their story. (Just an edit to those who might be confused, the layout of this volume is supposed to be the way the English version is printed. It's original format in the original language reads in the same order.)
I love this book series and the anime as well. It is so much more easy to relate because I'm also nerdy. Sometimes romance novels are hard to read because I'll never randomly meet a rich millionaire who will fall in love with me for strange reasons. This is down to earth and hilarious. I recommend it.
I'm write this review for all three volumes of Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku. This manga shows you the daily life of everyday, 9 to 5 adults who has never grown out of being a geek for nerdy stuff like gaming, comics, cartoons, anime, cosplaying, and going to comic cons. And happen to manage to maintain a stable relationship with that significant other who is either a little nerdy or a massive, obsessive geek.This manga is filled with laughs and relatable characters that you can gravitate to in each page. If you describe yourself as an otaku, then this is a must read manga for you. Then you might not look at your otaku friends or significant other the same way again because you will be referencing this book and relating to every nuisance.
This series is officially in my top ten favorite manga. I absolutely love the characters and the dynamics between them. Its so funny and down to earth, and its great to see a series about adults rather than teenagers and such. (Don't get me wrong I love that stuff but its cool to see a more adult setting) Just read this series please. It deserves so much love.PS: HIROTAKA IS BAE
Love the book but it came with a sticker on the back. As if that wasn't bad enough, when I tried to slowly get it off, not only did it leave bits of the slickly residue on it, it also ripped off part of the book! In the end, I decided the unsightly sticker would be better on than off... Thank god this wasn't a gift but still, I'm pretty miffed about it.
I cant get enough of this series love it so i had to buy it
Fujita-sensei never fails to make me giggle with her scenarios and dialogue. As a closet otaku, this gives me great pleasure. I look forward to purchasing many more English translated mangas in the future!
