Author assumes a bigger budget and hiring out most of the tasks for the wedding- not the typical budget DIY mormon wedding. Also gives lots of old fashioned opinions that are outdated or unnecessary. Good as a starting point, but I was hoping for better, and some websites (that are free) are just as good).
I have purchased these for my son's Bride to be. They both really liked the book and it had lots of helpful information to make sure you don't forget anything during the wedding planning.
I didn't actuLly end up using this but I read through it and it seemed like it would be helpful

I loved this book. It was full of insights and a bit of humor. It is definitely a big help for getting organized, and seeing what all needs to be done for a wedding. I love that it is organized into specific sections, unlike other wedding planning books I've seen that are organized into "months to" or "weeks to wedding," It's very helpful to get an LDS perspective on weddings, because most wedding stuff out there is for civil weddings, rather than temple weddings.
This book has been an INVALUABLE resource to both myself, my daughter, and her groom, as well as to her sisters whom will someday follow in her footsteps. Ann thinks of everything, except possibly the decorations themselves.Mom, if you want to avoid a ~bridezilla~ get your daughter this book. Ann also thought of that, as she reminds (in a MOST loving & tactful way, usually) the bride of all the hard work everyone else is doing for her, and lets her in on what she should be doing for herself as well.Daughter, do you want your mom involved or not? This book ALSO addresses how to tactfully ask for help, decline help, accept help, and have a beautiful happy time while you do it!Besides the extremely accurate & well-thought out lists & advice, she preps the bride, the groom, and yes, even the mothers, for the big event. There is everything from what you will need to take to the temple, how to sucessfully manage a reception, when to order the cake, & why (or why not)accepting help is a good idea, to a count-down timeline for the event.And every single area on the list has it's own advice section. This book is specifically written with the middle-class LDS, temple-going bride in mind. She helps you out with temple scheduling, getting the dress, securing a photographer & gives you advise on that final night!She even addresses different types of brides ( are you bride A ~ controlling every detail, involved in everything,with a final say ~ bride B ~ involved but willing to accept others' work &/or efforts as acceptable ~ or bride C ~ you know you want to show up at the sealing & to the reception, but beyond that, nothing is clear, and by the way, did someone order a cake or something... cuz you know it wasn't you.) ~& how to work your plans accordingly.How to best put it? It's like having your own personal Relief Society Stake Leader right by your side, whispering what needs to be done when, so that you look smooth, polished, calm, & can act as though you know what you are doing. This book pulled me & my very first oldest daughter (no experience from either of us!) through the process beautifully ~ and we only had six weeks of engagement to work with. And you know what? Ann even addresses that! She gives you the ~Abreviated timeline version~ and... it WORKS!We did it!
