I bought this book in August 2008. After reading it from cover to cover about 10 times I finally got my nerve up to make some soap. It turned out perfectly and I have used it to make numerous batches since. I make it to give as gifts as well as for use in my home. My husband will not use store-bought soap again after using my soap. So, if you are hesitant about making soap get this book, read it and read it until you are comfortable and confident that you understand it and go for it. Be sure to follow ALL the safety precautions because they are not exaggerated at all. Lye can hurt you and/or can be fatal. The hot soap can burn you so use caution when making it.Delores lists many distributors of fragrance oils, essential oils, soap-making equipment, in her book so you won't have any trouble finding supplies to make your soap. You will love this book no matter what anybody says. She has made it all easy to understand and has many recipes to follow to make wonderful soap.My favorite is the Oatmeal, Milk and Honey and everybody I have given a bar to just LOVES it too !!If you are serious about starting soap making as a hobby or for extra income, this is the book you need.
Great technically accurate book for processing soap with not only cold method, but also hot process using slow cooker. A book I borrowed from the library and needed to buy my own to help .

This book is amazing; I originally got it at the library. One can make soap using a crock-pot like appliance, avoiding all of the curing hassle of cold methods. I highly recommend it, even for novice soap makers.
